Atlas Copco listed among the world's 100 most sustainable companies
Atlas Copco stays ahead in global sustainability listing and has for the fourth year in a row been named as one of the 100 most sustainable companies in the world.
"In 2008 the Group has taken further steps in the corporate responsibility area. New energy efficient products and solutions have been launched, more employees are working in a unit with an environmental management system, and the employee survey INSIGHT showed that people are proud to work in the Group," says Annika Berglund, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications. "We are pleased to see that our consistent and hard work is recognized in external evaluations."
This year the Global 100 traced back all 100 listed companies to their years of origin to see how old they are. In total, 46 of the 100 companies have been in business for at least 100 years. Atlas Copco was established on February 21, 1873, and turns 136 this year.
“As a member of the global community, we are honored to be listed as one of the 100 most sustainable corporations in the world,” said Suresh Ghotage, Vice President and CFO of Atlas Copco India Ltd. “Our dedication to sustainable business practices extends across our ability to provide customers with reliable solutions that save energy and increase production efficiency.”
